Different Points about Service

First of all, most restaurants provide you with picture menues
which help you order without knowledge of Japanese language.
Second of all, you don't need to pay tips which cost you 10 - 20 % more.
Thirdly, most restaurants serve daily set menus as lunch
which include salad, another side dishes, rice, miso soup and main dish.
In short, you can enjoy various foods besides main dish.
As you know, it costs you too much, if you do so in your country.
On top of everything else, water, green tea or roasted barley tea is complimentary at almost every restaurant.
Soft drinks(Cola, orange juice, coffee etc) are also complimentary at some restaurants.
If I am asked "Would you like something to drink?", I'd like to say "Huh? What are talking about?".
Furthermore, you can have bowls of rice as much as you want at lunch at some restaurants.
You don't believe, but despite non-buffet,
some restaurants serve you miso soup, vegetables and eggs for free at lunch.
