Shiira(シイラ)/Mahi-mahi is a migrant fish and makes a habitat in off-shore subtropical and tropical waters.
As Shiira/Mahi-mahi grows, its length is up to 2m and its weight is up to 40kg.
Forehead of mature male Shiira/Mahi-mahi sticks out.
It has bunches of golden dapples on its silvery body tinted with green and blue.
As it's just landed, its color of the body will remarkably change.
This looks like a rainbow. It is sometimes called "Rainbow Fish".
Shiira/Mahi-mahi is evaluated as a minor fish in Japan, while Shiira/Mahi-mahi is a specialty dish in Hawaii where it is also popular for fishing game.
